「古典戯曲の舞台裏。リーディング公演」戯曲ワークショップ

アガタ・ハウプニク『女性形のもの』はじめに “シェイクスピアの妹”という人物像は、ヴァージニア・ウルフが1929年に執筆したエッセイ『自分だけの部屋』の中で最もよく挙げられる疑問点の一つであるが、今なお不穏な力を保つ作品だ。『灯台へ』を執筆したこの女流作家が、女性作品の強み、その特質、相違点について考察しつつ、他方、何よりもその社会的な条件について思いを巡らせながら、なぜシェイクスピアの妹がいなかったのかと問う。つまり、シェイクスピアのような偉大な作家を意味し、同様の力、気質、勢いを持ち、文学史や演劇史への影響を与えるような女流作家がなぜいなかったのか、と。シェイクスピアのような才能を持った女性はいまだ生まれなかったのだろうか。それは分からない。だが例え生まれていたとしても、この仮のシェイクスピアの妹は、シェイクスピアの時代では自分の才能を開花させるチャンスがなかったのではないだろうか。ヴァージニア・ウルフは「きっと気が狂うか、ピストルで自殺するか、どこか村外れの一軒家で、半ば男の魔法使いと恐れられ、嘲られて、生涯を終えたであろうということです」と述べている。ウルフの考えでは、「自分自身のそれに逆らう本能によっても非常に苦しめられ、引き裂かれるでしょうから、ついには必ず体をこわし、正気ではなくなるに違いない」といえる障害に出くわしていたことだろう。なぜなら、ある娘が「ロンドンまで歩いていって、楽屋口に佇み、役者兼座元に強引に会ってもらおうとすれば、きまって我と我が身を害なうことに」なったからではないだろうか。さらに、「十六世紀のロンドンで自由に生きることは、詩人であり劇作家であった女性にとって、命取りになっても当然なほどの神経の緊張とジレンマを意味したことでしょう。その緊張とジレンマを乗り越えたとしても、彼女の書いたものは何であれ、緊張した病的な想像力から生まれる以上、ねじれた、いびつなものであったでしょう」とも述べている。シェイクスピアやキーツの仮の妹のこのようなジレンマと緊張、男性の批評を伴った感情的な争いについて書きながら、ヴァージニア・ウルフはそこに自分自身を重ねて書いている。この二十世紀の作家は、十六世紀に生きた彼女の先駆者たちが経験したのと比べても少なくはない緊張と争ってきたのである。ウルフのエッセ

Ryoko Tahara: guest of the panel discussions (18-19.12.2020)

Ryoko Tahara I visited Shikotan Island, Unalaska Island and a graveyard in a suburb of Paris My presentation highlights my personal unexpected experiences of visiting three places in relation to the Ainu: the Shikotan Island in the Kuril Islands, the Unalaska Island in the Aleutian Islands and a graveyard in the suburbs of Paris. First, in 2019, I joined an exchange programme between Russia and Japan over the disputed Shikotan Island in the Kuril Islands, which has been under effective control of Russia since WWII, as the first Ainu. The purpose of my participation in the programme lied in paying a visit to our ancestors’ graves in the Shikotan Island. During the visit I met an Russian resident, who welcomed me, saying that Ainu and Russian were strongly connected through the Russian Orthodox Church. Second, also in 2019, I had a chance to visit the Unalaska Island in the Aleutian Islands, which Japan used to occupy during WWII, in order to mingle with the Aleut. As a result, I go

私たちは秋田県田代で行われたNPO鎌鼬と土方巽アーカイブによる鎌鼬美術館主催の秋田ヴィレッジ・アートフェスティバで公演させていただき、そこから札幌に戻りわずか４日が経過したところです。素晴らしい時間と出会い、驚きの体験。忘れがたい瞬間の一つは私たちが土方巽記念館に入館したときに彼の娘の一人である元藤べらさんにお会いできたことでした。私たちは彼女から次の話をきき面食らいました。1965年に土方が東北の畑の中を走り回りながら細江英公により撮影された際に、彼女が彼の腕の中に抱かれていた赤ん坊だったということです。 It has been only 4 days since we have returned to Sapporo from Tashiro (Tōhoku), where we have had the chance to perform at the Akita Village Art Festival organised at Kamaitachi Museum of Art by Hijikata Tatsumi Archive and Kamaitachi NPO. Great time, great encounters, amazing experiences. One of the unforgettable moments happened when we entered Hijikata's museum and met one of his daughters – Bera Motofuji.
